This page is designed to help you see some of Osvaldo's appearances throughout his musical career. 

The musical background you will be listening to on this page is "La Malagueña", one of the songs found on Osvaldo's CD "Tropical Temptation".  The arrangement is by Gato Barbieri.

The following photos represent a small collection of photos from the early sixties to the present, with various artists that Osvaldo performed with.  


Early Career Pictures

 

Os (middle) in 1963 in Chile, playing with the trio on a Southern Chile tour; two great guitar players of their time: Peter Vera and Manuel Fuentes.

This picture would have been perfect for an album cover; taken in 1974 in Puerto Rico.  Osvaldo recorded two songs with the Odeon label in Chile in 1969: "Habladora" and "No Hagas Olitas", a Twist.

 

"Grupo Casanova" that Osvaldo toured with through ONZA, a hotel industry agency; They played hotels in Puerto Mont and Puerto Varas;  and in 64-65 as a teenage aspiring musician.

The world-famous "Indio Araucano", Osvaldo's father, on a Puerto Rican TV show called Luis Vigoreaux.

Newspaper article in "El Clarin", Santiago Chile, August 1963, when Osvaldo was preparing to tour Southern Chile. The press recognized that the son of "Indio Gomez" was also an excellent singer, and upcoming on the pops charts.

 

Appearing on Chilean National TV in 1964 (playing guitar) with the orchestra "Los Caribes".

Osvaldo played with Rolo Prezas about three years at Bouzyos, a Greek restaurant on the famous Commercial Drive in Vancouver

With Victor Bongat, July 05 at Newlands Golf Club, where the clients Dine'n'Dance.  They have fabulous buffets.

 

Millenium Club, Vancouver, summer of '98, Mario, Juan Carlos and Os  performed Latin Music for a special event; they also performed for NY Eve 2000 at Caffe de Meddicci on Denman in the West End of Vancouver.  Special performances for Dubrulle Culinary School.

Santas Tapas was a well-known bistro on Commercial Drive before it had a fire and was destroyed.  Osvaldo playing in photo with "La Clave".

Gabriel Mark Hasselbach contributed beautiful flute and saxophone parts in several of the songs recorded for Os' first CD "Tropical Temptation", recorded in part at his studio and completed at Turtle Studios in White Rock. 

Performing for the Surrey Chamber of Commerce "Policeman of the Year 04" function at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel.

Adel Awad, well-known Egyptian percussionist who played with Osvaldo around Vancouver - particular at "El Caravan".
